Summer Social

This past summer was very work filled and I only had time to take a little bit of time off. I wasn’t prepared to sacrifice hanging out with some of my friends that normally live abroad (Berlin, Istanbul, Mumbai and Shanghai, so not very conveniently close) so my time off was either spent with them or at a few crucial summer events..

Turns out you can’t cure a gardener, so a few of them had some garden related touches.

In the first picture: Watering a swiss chard plant I had donated to a “Plant Tram” event that was arranged in August and September in Helsinki. At first the plants that people had donated were on display at the Flow festival (where “my” plant was looking quite thirsty) and then they were used in an installation.

The picture in the middle is also from Flow.

In the Finnish archipelago I loved the Bonsai-like pine trees. They really grow in a whole different way than around my parts where the wind is not that severe and we have a bit more soil for them.

At my friend P’s wedding R had made some beautiful Margaritas, the Nasturtiums on the table were from my garden.

I had also made P’s wedding bouquet and the flower decorations for the tables with some help from my friend H. In the bouquet is one of the summer’s last peony flowers, a few roses, some Philadelphus, a few weeds 😉  and white Phlox paniculata.

I'am a marketing and gardening professional and I plan to blog about garden photography (with an amateur’s perspective on it), gardens, plants, most things even vaguely garden related and garden trips around the world.
