Rainy Days

Some years ago when we had horrible droughts, I swore I would never complain about rain. I’m not sure I made the distinction “during the summer”, but that was my intention. I didn’t complain about the rain this summer either, it was very nice to see everything grow with such vigor and I’m looking forward to some nice flowering next spring. For example the azaleas, the rhododendron and my magnolias all look like they have set a record amount of buds. So that is excellent, however, this autumn rain that we have had in the last weeks is getting a bit old. It is very wet and there are some places in the garden that can’t be worked right now and that is a little bit annoying.

The first picture shows a new Echinacea hybrid, but I’m not sure which.

It was almost sunny for a brief while earlier and I had a chance to take a few pictures. Otherwise, here are a few more Instagrams from the summer.

Apples, Sedum ‘Matrona’ and strawberries

Redleaved basil, some harvest and an ornamental kale.

From today:

Salvia glutinosa – Jupiter’s sage, quite a late bloomer.

Almost all the dahlias I raised from the ‘Red Skin’ seed mix turned out this color. There was supposed to be reds and oranges too!

I'am a marketing and gardening professional and I plan to blog about garden photography (with an amateur’s perspective on it), gardens, plants, most things even vaguely garden related and garden trips around the world.

Ihania kesäkuvia, näitä on hyvä kattella ja sulkea todellisuus pois:)
